Our Outdoor Lighting Refresh

This copper outdoor wall lantern for our back porch mimics the look of a high-end gas lantern. It’s a perfect size, looks high-end, and has solid brass construction, so it will hold up well to the extremes of our North Carolina weather.

I hope it will develop a patina over time as well, but because it is not unlaquered, I am not sure—we’ll see!

We opted to use the recommended LED Edison bulbs for light bulbs because they cast a warm glow and make all the difference in creating a high-end look.

Next is our front porch light, which I kept simple with a black vintage-inspired flush mount. While I also wanted copper in the front, it would clash with our home’s current color palette. We will update all the exterior coloring at some point, but this black color works well for now.

We also added a new fan to the back porch. I chose white because I wanted it to blend seamlessly into the ceiling.
