Changing the flooring in our half bath was not part of the design plan, but after painting, I felt something had to be done to the floors.

Tips for Installing Peel and Stick Tiles

These floor pops are easy to install once you get the hang of them! Here are a few tips that really helped me.

Give your floor a good sweep and mop. Ensure everything is dry and dust-free before starting.
Find the center of the room and draw a guideline in both directions to ensure the first few tiles are laid evenly. A laser level is nice for this, but I did it without one!
Use a wet-erase marker to mark where to cut on the tiles.
Use a box cutter and a straight edge for accurate cuts.
For more difficult cuts, use a piece of cardboard as a template before scoring on the vinyl.
Caulk around the baseboards to prevent water damage and cover up uneven cuts!

Can you put peel-and-stick tile over existing floors?

Yes! The fantastic thing about this product is that it does not require additional adhesive or special tools. After a good sweep and mop, I installed them right over my LVP flooring.

Please review the installation guide to ensure they will work on your flooring. They are not recommended for cracked or uneven floors.

How long do peel and stick tiles last?

Some sources say peel-and-stick vinyl tiles can last up to 25 years! However, life expectancy really depends on several factors, such as the quality of installation, water exposure, and traffic.

Remember that peel-and-stick vinyl is a temporary solution, so don’t expect it to hold up like ceramic or natural stone tiles.

Can you mop peel and Stick Tiles?

Yes, peel-and-stick vinyl can be mopped, but be careful not to oversaturate the tiles.

Floor Pops recommends not using harsh chemicals or cleaners on your vinyl tiles.

Are Peel and Stick Tiles Worth It?

These are a great option if you are looking for a quick and affordable fix. For the price and style accent these bring to our home, I would say they are 100% worth it!

Vinyl peel-and-stick tiles are not a long-term flooring solution. They work as a temporary fix before something more durable can be installed.
