small space patio ideas for all budgets

Jordan and I love spending time outside every chance we get.

If you didn’t know, about three years ago, after I graduated nursing school, we moved from Wisconsin to North Carolina. Needless to say, we love the beautiful weather we get here almost year round.

In North Carolina, it’s common to have an indoor-outdoor lifestyle, and we pretty much live on our balcony-patio for most of the year. I’ve been dying to update the patio furniture to make the outside space more inviting.

Last year, I shared a budget-friendly patio update, using the furniture I already had and just adding in a few new accents. Although the furniture is still in good condition, I would love to update to more modern + comfortable items.

I’ve been looking around for small space patio ideas and there are just so many amazing styles and deals out there!

Patio furniture can be expensive, so I recommend finding pieces that you can collect more of in the future. That means avoiding super trendy items and going for simple, timeless pieces.

In this post, I rounded up patio furniture, rugs, and decor items from four of my favorite stores. There’s a variety of price ranges with these products, so hopefully you’ll find something that fits your style AND your budget.

Have fun perusing through these small space patio ideas!

  1. For lighting, can I recommend that there are a few decent solar-powered LED lights available on Amazon that don’t suck and actually generate light for many hours after sundown? Installation is extremely simple, and after all the work on the patio, you can also do something with some immediate gratification. Thanks for sharing your tips, by the way. Excellent write-up.
