Something I’ve been wanting to do for a while on the blog is feature a Small Shop Highlight. It’s so important to support small businesses, especially during this difficult time! I love that supporting + finding small, unique businesses is easier than ever, especially with websites like Etsy.
I’ve had so many of you ask where I got my macrame plant hangers, so here’s an up-close and personal look at my modern macrame plant hangers and the small shop I purchased from!

Last year, I went to an event called the The Vintage Market Days. This upscale flea market travels around to different cities offering vintage-inspired home decor pieces + handmade merchandise. The market has a super fun atmosphere and features unique, local + small businesses.
That’s where I found Mike + Melanie at the Voltz and Bolts shop.
As I was walking up to the booth, Melanie was literally hand braiding macrame plant hangers!
I was excited to find Voltz and Bolts is a North Carolina owned and operated shop located in Kernersville. They specialize in handmade macrame wall + plant hangers, baskets, and unique light fixtures.
Everything they create is handmade + high-end quality. Of course, the off-white cotton macrame plant hangers are what caught my eye right away!

I purchased two plant hangers both made with beautiful, off-white, 100% cotton cord. They are extremely high quality and heavy duty.
I love how each plant hanger is unique in it’s own way and crafted with great attention to detail. Any sized pot or planter can be used as they are one size fits all.
Each has a heavy duty metal ring attached for hanging. I noticed some of the new designs rolled out have wooden rings which I love! Either way, they’re durable.
Some of the newer designs also have trendy color blocking accents added to the macrame giving them an Anthropologie/West Elm vibe. And let’s be honest, that’s what we all want in life!

These planters are great for indoor and outdoor use, but they are definitely an easy and effortless way to style + display house plants.
You don’t need a green thumb! They’re just as pretty with faux greenery as they are with a real plants.
For my plants, I chose a String of Pearls (in the large planter) and a Satin Pothos (in the small). I prefer trailing plants, but any plant type will work.

To hang the planter, I used a simple white ceiling hook from Target and screwed it into the ceiling. You may need to drill a hole first. The hook has held up really well to the weight of the plants. The larger planter (pictured below on the left) weighs around 15 pounds, and nothing has fallen yet!
